Motocross Association Senior Member Tests Positive for Coronavirus

A senior member of the Bermuda Motocross Association admitted during a general member meeting via Zoom on Wednesday December 9 that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
The individual who TNN chooses not to identify was down in the race pit in St David’s on Sunday December 6, where, according to a well place source, “ He was in contact with at least 100 other people. During the virtual meeting, he admitted his negligence and apologized to everyone, saying that he was selfish and inconsiderate.”
According to the senior member, he got tested for the virus on Saturday, but found out that he was positive after the race.
As a result, all motocross racing is suspended until the end of the year, including the Boxing Day extravaganza and the New Year’s race.
“[It seemed that] members were more concerned [during the meeting] about riding than about what actually happened,” one member, who happens to have family members who also ride motocross bikes, said. I’ve expressed disappointment with the inconsiderate individual and the club as a whole and feels that they are downplaying the entire situation.
“[The club] is saying that it is a low-risk activity, because we are outside,” I can’t except that because 9 people at a funeral has tested positive for being at an outdoor event our source said, the Ministry of health needs to investigate this situation ASAP.
