ST. REGIS RESORT SCHEDULED OPENING SET FOR APRIL 2021, SITE VISIT FOR ROBAN
On Thursday, November 5th 2020 Minister of Home Affairs the Hon. Walter Roban JP, MP visited the St. Regis Bermuda Resort site in St. George’s for a tour and progress update from the developers.
Minister Roban was joined by MP Lovitta Foggo, Senator and Junior Home Affairs Minister Lindsay Simmons as well as the Director of Planning, Victoria Pereira – plus various Department of Planning staff and members of the Development Applications Board (DAB).
“It is good to see this project nearing completion and I am excited to see the finished resort property, which will not only benefit the people of St. George’s – but Bermuda as a whole”, said Minister Roban.
He continued: "It should be noted that there has been over $150 million worth of investment into this St. Regis development so far and it is anticipated that around 200 jobs will be created to operate the resort complex.
In fact, I believe - as do the developers - that Bermuda has the talent locally to run this St. Regis Resort to the standard of excellence their brand is known for.
I would like to acknowledge everyone involved - in particular the developers, contractors and Department of Planning staff - for their efforts in bringing St. Regis’ vision to reality.”
The St. Regis Bermuda Resort is scheduled to open in April 2021.
