RA ISSUES FINAL REPORT ON ELECTRICITY SECTOR
After a comprehensive review, the Regulatory Authority of Bermuda
(the “RA”) has published its Final Report on the Electricity Sector.
The recommendations in the Final Report are intended to enhance the legal, regulatory, and policy framework for the Electricity Sector in Bermuda.
Key recommendations include:
• Further consideration for community energy schemes
• Continued monitoring of wave energy, which could play an important role
in Bermuda’s Integrated Resource Plan, as the technology matures, and
• Options for the development of an electric vehicle charging infrastructure
As the regulator for the Electricity Sector, the RA’s role is to ensure that the market is aligned with global best practices and works well for consumers and other key stakeholders.
